Our team starts with a relaxed 20-minute phone call — just you and our team. You tell us about your loved one: who they are, what you'd most like to capture, whether there are particular stories or periods of their life you want to make sure get recorded.
This call is completely free and carries no obligation. It's simply the best way for us to understand what you're hoping for, and for you to get a feel for how our team works.
From there, our team will recommend the right package, answer any questions about cost and process, and agree on a time for the recording.
Recording day
Our team arrives at your loved one's home — anywhere in the Perth metro area — with professional audio and video equipment. Setup takes around 15 minutes and is designed to be unobtrusive: no bright lights, no cluttered gear, nothing that would make your loved one feel like they're in a studio.
The interview itself is a guided conversation. Our team has prepared thoughtful questions tailored to your loved one's life — covering childhood, family, work, the things they're proud of, the things that were hard, and what they'd want the next generation to know. Most people are surprised by how natural it feels.
Sessions typically run 1 hour, but our team moves at whatever pace feels comfortable. Breaks are welcome. If your loved one tires easily, our team can work around that.
Editing & delivery
After the recording, our team carefully edits the raw files — removing long pauses, technical interruptions, and anything your loved one didn't want included. What remains is a clean, natural recording that sounds exactly like them.
Finished files are delivered via a private, secure download link within two to three weeks. Audio is delivered as high-quality MP3. Video as MP4. Both formats are suitable for long-term archiving and easy to share with family members anywhere in the world.
For the Legacy Collection, you also receive a printed transcript — a physical document your family can hold, annotate, and pass down.

You're welcome to sit in on the recording. Some people talk more openly one-on-one — but others find it easier with family nearby. Our team will follow your lead.
Health considerations
Our team works with people at all stages of life, including those with health challenges or memory concerns. Shorter sessions, multiple visits, and a gentle pace are all options.
No experience needed
Your loved one doesn't need to be a natural talker. Our team's questions are designed to draw out stories that are already there — they just haven't been asked yet.
